Submissions now open – Development Application
DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION – PROPOSED WORKFORCE ACCOMODATION – LOT 101 CROSBY STREET, KATANNING
The Shire of Katanning has received a development application, seeking approval to develop a ‘workforce accommodation’ facility at Lot 101 Crosby Street, Katanning.
- The Lot 101 Crosby St is located on the western fringe of the Katanning townsite
- The intent of the proposed accommodation is to facilitate a drive-in drive out workforce arrangement, enabling personnel and contractors to reside in Katanning and commute to the Katanning Gold Project mine, located north-east of the Katanning Shire
- The accommodation facility comprises accommodation pods, communal facilities, landscaped areas and carparking and access areas
- An approximate 35m buffer is proposed between development and neighbouring private lots
- The colour palette proposed for buildings includes Shale Grey, Basalt, Surfmist and Monument
- The site is to be landscaped with continuous planting along the site edges to soften views from adjoining properties and the public realm
- Waste is to be managed by a dedicated bin storage area, with collection by a private waste contractor
- The facility is to be connected to the Western Power and Water Corporation utility infrastructure
- A construction management plan has been submitted to ensure compliance with industry standards, during the construction phase of the project
