NOTICE OF PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT
PROPOSED ROAD CLOSURE
UPDATE: Comment period is extended until 12 October 2026

The Shire of Katanning Council, pursuant to section 58 of the Land Administration Act 1997, resolved to advertise for a period of 35 days, a proposal to:
- Closure of:
a) Wolyaming Road, for a section north of Smith Road;
b) Smith Road, for a portion but not the entire length of a section between Wolyaming
c) Road and the eastern edge of the Shire of Katanning;
d) West Road for the full length; and
- Modification of Warren Road alignment between West Road and Wolyaming Road, including a temporary partial closure.
The proposal for the above road closures is made by Planning Solutions, on behalf of Ausgold. The closure of the road reserves is proposed to enable the land to be mined. Documentation on the proposed road closures is available as a hard copy at the Shire office (52 Austral Terrace, Katanning) or can be viewed electronically at the following link: https://www.katanning.wa.gov.au/publicnotices/.
Comments on the proposed road closures are now invited and can be emailed to admin@katanning.wa.gov.au or posted to the Shire’s Chief Executive Officer at PO Box 130 KATANNING WA 6317 by no later than 4pm Monday 12 October 2026.
