WANDERING DOGS

Not only is it against the law to allow your dog to wander, pets wandering at large can pose a public safety risk.

If a dog is found wandering, there are penalties involved and your dog may be impounded if no registration tag or microchip is found.

Wandering dogs run the risk of injury, being poisoned or even killed on the road. On top of this, if your dog causes damage or injury to another animal or person, you may be liable for damages.

As a dog owner it is your responsibility to ensure that your dog can’t wander off your property. The law requires all dogs to be securely confined on private property.
