Voting packs for most country councils have now been lodged with Australia Post and should start to reach electors over the next few days.  Lodging of postal packages for Perth metropolitan electors is also continuing over the coming days. As there are over 1.5 million packages to deliver, it will take days following lodgement for them all to be delivered. 

The Commission urges electors to make sure they have their say on who will represent them on their local council, and reminds electors to make sure they sign the certificate on their ballot paper envelope to make their vote count.

When these packs are returned the Commission staff detach the elector certificates from each envelope to preserve the secrecy of every vote.
