Katanning Skate Park Upgrade

Local skate enthusiasts have been hard at work with Skate Sculpture and Plan E Landscape Architects to design an exciting expansion and upgrading of the Katanning Skate Park as part of the All Ages Playground redevelopment.

In preparation for the works the Skate Park is now closed and is anticipated to reopen by September 2019.

The greatly anticipated new Skate Park, located on the corner of Clive Street and Albion Street, will be extended to the street line with a variety of obstacles and elements that go beyond the traditional style, incorporating features such as parkour areas. Kids will have the chance to increase their skating skills with the addition of different sized ledges, rails and half pipes.

The upgrades are expected to bring yet another dimension of multigenerational opportunity to the precinct and encourage youths to get more involved in physical activity.

Katanning Shire President Cr Liz Guidera said “Young people need things to do and places where they are free to be themselves within our town. The new Katanning Skate Park will provide a safe environment for skateboarding and a place for youths to socialise and be active.”
