The Shire of Katanning have received reports of illegal firewood collection from reserves in the area. Whilst the vast majority of people do the right thing, it’s important to remind the public that collection of firewood from reserves is prohibited, patrols are being done in the area and those found taking firewood could receive a heavy penalty.

Additionally, the illegal collection of firewood from our reserves impacts on native wildlife and birds as it destroys natural habitat. Anyone requiring further information regarding this matter are encouraged to contact the Department of Parks and Wildlife Services on 9219 9000.
