COVID-19: Contact Registers

Published on Tuesday, 1 December 2020 at 9:55:43 AM

As of Saturday 5 December, particular businesses and venues in Western Australia must maintain a contact register of their staff and patrons for COVID-19 contact tracing, if required.

Anyone who attends particular businesses or venues will be required to register their contact details, unless getting take-away. This includes patrons, staff, volunteers and contractors.

The contact register records will only be held for 28 days.

Contact registers will be required for the following Shire of Katanning Facilities:

  • Katanning Library, Art Gallery & Community Room
  • Katanning Leisure Centre
  • Katanning Aquatic Centre
  • Katanning Saleyards (canteen users only)
  • Katanning Town Hall

If COVID-19 is detected in the WA community, contact registers help to protect us all by enabling the WA Health Contact Team to quickly identify and assist anyone that may have been exposed to COVID-19.

To help, the WA Government has developed a free app, SafeWA, which will provide businesses with a digital contact register system. SafeWA is an efficient and safe way to record patron and visitor contact details where they can check-in, using the app. Click the link below to download the SafeWA app.
