COUNCIL MEETINGS TO BE CONDUCTED BY ELECTRONIC MEANS

The Government of Western Australia has declared a State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in response to COVID-19 coronavirus and has imposed restrictions on public gatherings.  

The Shire President has determined that Shire of Katanning Council meetings will be held by electronic means (eMeetings) whilst COVID-19 restrictions remain in place.  Members of the public will not be able to attend meetings in-person during this time.

In accordance with regulation 14E(2) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, notice is hereby given that the following Shire of Katanning Ordinary Council meetings will be conducted by electronic means (eMeetings):

Public question time procedures for eMeetings

The Shire encourages community participation in its decision-making process and provides the opportunity for public question time at Council meetings.

Questions asked at a Council meeting can relate to any matter that the Shire has responsibility for.

Questions from the public will be read out loud by the President at the Council meeting and a response provided where possible or the question taken on notice and a response provided at the next Council meeting.

The details of public questions and responses will be recorded in the minutes of each meeting.

Members of the public wishing to submit a question may do so in writing to the Chief Executive Officer by email: admin@katanning.wa.gov.au by 2pm on the day of the Council meeting.
