Did you know the Great Southern Region has more than 50 visual and performing artists, 65 community and cultural organisations and close to 100 built and natural heritage attractions?
From our ancient bushland to our sweeping coastlines, vibrant towns and agricultural communities, our creativity, diversity and shared heritage brings us together in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
It’s now time to bring it all together through development of a Great Southern Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy which considers the Region’s cultural and creative:
Identity: The defining qualities, characteristics and narratives that underpin the region
Experience: The depth, breadth and accessibility of arts, culture and heritage experiences across the region, for people of all ages and interests
Capacity: The infrastructure, resources and skills needed to stimulate cultural and creative communities and economies and build capacity.
As the first of its kind for Western Australia, this Strategy will set an important strategic framework for the Region to strengthen our cultural and creative partnerships, programs and assets and attract new creative opportunities.
