PROPOSED BORROWING OF UP TO $400,000 — KATANNING AERODROME RUNWAY REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

In accordance with section 6.20(2) of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Katanning gives one month’s local public notice of its proposal to borrow up to $400,000 from the Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC), repayable over 10 years, to fund additional expenditure on the Katanning Aerodrome Runway Refurbishment Project.
 

The borrowing was not included in the Shire’s adopted 2026/27 Annual Budget. The funds will contribute towards reconstruction of runway pavement sections and resealing works.
 

The public notice period commences on 29/10/2026 and closes at 4.00 pm (AWST) on 30/11/2026. Written submissions on the proposed borrowing are invited during this period and should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, marked “Proposed borrowing — Runway Refurbishment Project”, and submitted by email to admin@katanning.wa.gov.au, by post to PO Box 130, Katanning WA 6317, or delivered to the Shire Administration Office, 52 Austral Terrace, Katanning.
 

The Shire will not exercise the proposed borrowing power until the one-month local public notice period has expired. Submissions received by the closing date will be presented to Council for consideration before the proposed borrowing is approved.
