MAY COUNCIL MEETING TO BE HELD BY ELECTRONIC MEANS

The Government of Western Australia has declared a State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in response to COVID-19 coronavirus.

The Shire President has determined that the Shire of Katanning Council meeting for May 2022 will be held by electronic means (eMeeting) whilst the public health impacts and risks associated with COVID-19 remains high.  Members of the public will not be able to attend meetings in-person during this time.

In accordance with regulation 14E(2) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, notice is hereby given that the Shire of Katanning Ordinary Council meeting to be held on Thursday 26 May 2022 at 7.00pm will be conducted by electronic means (eMeeting).

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME PROCEDURES FOR E-MEETINGS

The Shire encourages community participation in its decision-making process and provides the opportunity for public question time at Council meetings.

Questions asked at a Council meeting can relate to any matter that the Shire has responsibility for.

Questions from the public will be read out loud by the President at the Council meeting and a response provided where possible or the question taken on notice and a response provided at the next Council meeting.

The details of public questions and responses will be recorded in the minutes of each meeting.

Members of the public wishing to submit a question may do so in writing to the Chief Executive Officer by email: admin@katanning.wa.gov.au by 2pm on the day of the Council meeting.
