2022 KATANNING HARMONY FESTIVAL CHANGES

Published on Tuesday, 1 March 2022 at 5:10:40 PM

The Shire of Katanning have made the tough decision to make changes to the 2022 Katanning Harmony Festival schedule of events based on the recent Level 2 Public Health Measures recently introduced by the State Government, that come into effect from 12:01am, Thursday 3 March 2022, which includes a 500-person capacity limit for outdoor public venues and events.

The Shire of Katanning will be proceeding with the Friday Food Night on 18 March 2022 with masks now required in the event area. With consideration for the safety of the community and based on health advice, the festival on Saturday 19 March 2022 will now be cancelled.

The cancellation of the Saturday event comes with a great deal of sadness. Our first priority is the safety of everyone including attendees, our staff and volunteers, all event stakeholders and members of our local community.

The Katanning Harmony Festival Team have worked really hard to put together a fantastic event for 2022 to celebrate our town’s diversity and are very disappointed that we have had to make this decision.

“We know how much the festival is enjoyed and valued, bringing communities together to celebrate our diversity and uniqueness which can be particularly important during these times, however the safety of our community comes first.” Shire President Liz Guidera said.

We look forward to continuing with the beloved Katanning Harmony Festival in 2023 and thank the community for your continued support and understanding during these difficult times.

We appreciate your patience while we have been working to contact all stakeholders involved. For further enquiries please contact the Katanning Harmony Festival Team on harmonyfestival@katanning.wa.gov.au.
