The Shire has secured $100,000 ex GST through the Department of Water, Community Water Supply Program to design and implement a Katanning Water Supply project. Through this project the Shire wishes to ensure that its community is well prepared for periods of low rainfall through the planning and implementation of a strategic water project in Katanning.
Focusing on the western area of the Katanning town site, the Katanning Water Supply project will be designed in phases to allow implementation in accordance with resource availability. Each project phase will comprise a staged implementation that will ensure that the infrastructure delivered at the completion of each phase is functional, and does not rely on the completion of any future phases of the project to deliver value.
The total project cost for the delivery of the first phase of the project, which will focus on water supply at the Katanning Leisure Centre is $161,000 ex GST.
