There are approximately 42 public buildings within the Shire, which are inspected on a regular basis to determine compliance with the Health (Public Buildings) Regulations 1992. The main part of the inspection focuses on emergency exits and exit signs.

One off events such as concerts and circuses are also assessed for compliance with these regulations.
